Things I Like Vol. 001

I’ve been really trying to hold myself accountable for writing blog posts, and so far so good! I don’t really want to jinx it though because this is really only my second “real” blog post in, but hey! At least I’m trying.

So to balance out the previous blog post, I wanted to write up a quick round up of the things I’ve been loving recently. I think I’ll be doing posts like these maybe once or twice a month, mainly because 1. finding stuff that I actually like is hard and 2. everyone does posts like these and I don’t want to seem too redundant/cliche/like everybody else online. Anyway, my brain is already dead and it’s only Monday and I feel like the last two paragraphs have been the worst writing I’ve done in my whole life, so without further ado, here’s all the things I’ve been really into.

  1. Cornbread and Chicken Dumplings: I’ve been getting very into cooking lately, like more than usual, and my new favorite website to go to when I’m looking for a new recipe to try is A Cozy Kitchen. Her recipes are super easy and are seriously ah-mazing. This cornbread and chicken dumpling recipe is literally the best thing I’ve ever made and it was stupid easy. Plus—I made my own buttermilk for the dumplings and used lemon juice in some heavy cream, and it gave them a light lemon flavor that was SO DAMN GOOD.

  2. Glasses For Your Computer Screen: I recently got a pair of glasses from EyeBuyDirect that just have this film on the lens that’s suppose to protect your eyes from the blue light your computer emits, and let me tell you, they’re probably my favorite purchase I’ve made this whole year. I stare at a screen literally all day long and KNEW I was damaging my eyes so decided to give ‘em a try. I’ve only been wearing these a few days and have honestly already felt a difference.

  3. @astclaire’s Friday Night Memes: Okay. So, this may be slightly depressing but I follow this girl on Instagram who posts memes to her story every Friday night, and I legit look forward to them every. Friday. night. I would highly recommend giving her a follow and making sure to not miss out on her weekly meme sessions.

  4. Tahini: I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been really into tahini recently. I never thought it would be a condiment I would need, but it’s pretty great on everything. I like to throw over some roasted veggies or use it to make a salad dressing or dip in bread or make hummus. The possibilities are endless and I’ve even gone through a whole tub in maybe like two months, which is kind of insane considering how large the tub is.

Alright. Well that’s all folks. I’m going to pass out since I took Advil P.M about an hour ago and I’m about to sleep SO hard that I won’t even remember publishing this post to the internet. Goodbyeeee!
